Virginia Tola

soprano (Argentina)


      She graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts of Teatro Cologne in Buenos Aires. She improved her vocal technique with Raina Kabaivanska at Vecchi-Tonelli Institute in Modena. She is a laureate of two of the world's most prestigious singing competitions –
“Queen Sonia” in Oslo, where she won the first prize and “Operalia” 2000, the competition of Placido Domingo, where she was awarded three prizes – the Audience Prize, the Zarzuela Prize and the Philanthropist Lloyd Rigler Prize.

 

      Virginia Tola's international career has passed through the stages of Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Royal Opera House of Wallonia, Royal Opera Theatre in Brussels, the theatres in Seville and Oviedo, Queen Sophia Palace of Arts in Valencia, Opera House of Monte Carlo, Teatro Reggio in Parma, Teatro Reggio in Turin, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, opera theatres in Los Angeles, Bordeaux, Amsterdam, Oslo, Marseille, Cagliari etc.


      Her repertoire includes: Abigaille in “Nabucco”, Amelia in “Un ballo in maschera”, Alice Ford in “Falstaff”, Elizabeth de Valois in “Don Carlo”, Lucrezia Contarini in “I due Foscari” and “Lady Macbeth” by Verdi, “Tosca” and “Suor Angelica” by Puccini, Maddalena de Coigny in “Andrea Chénier” by Giordano, “Adriana Lecouvreur” by Cilea, “Luisa Fernanda” by Torroba, and others.
