RAINA KABAIVANSKA AWARDED “ST.ST. CIRIL AND METHODIUS” PRIZE

The great opera actress and member of the Board of Trustees of New Bulgarian University Raina Kabaivanska is awarded the great Salon Art Prize for her entire contribution to the sphere of culture.

In a letter of gratitude to the Executive Manager of the National Palace of Culture Raina Kabaivanska says: “I consider this gesture as a sign for my efforts to work with students. This is the reason for me to come back again and again to Bulgaria – always happy to continue the Master Classes conducted through the latest 15 years at New Bulgarian University.”

Raina Kabaivanska will receive the Prize at official ceremony in September when the XV Master Class of the opera prima organized by New Bulgarian University will take place.

Raina Kabaivanska is one of the most significant opera actresses of the second half of XX-th century. She has participated in unforgettable grand performances on the greatest world musical stages – La Scala, Methropolitan Opera, Vienna Opera, Arena di Verona, Covent Garden, Carnegie Hall and Bolshoi Theatre. 

Through the years among the honoured with this award are famous Bulgarian cultural and art figures like: Svetlin Rusev, Stefan Danailov, Valeri Petrov, Yordan Radichkov, Stefan Tsanev, Bogomil Rainov, Leda Mileva etc.
