Selene Zanetti won the first prize of the "Marcella Pobbe" opera competition



"Marcella Pobbe", the prestigious opera competition was held in the middle of April 2016 in Teatro Olimpico, Vicenza. Teatro Olimpico is one of the most famous theaters in Italy - famous for its beauty and history. It is the first indoor theater built by Andrea Palladio. The contest program of the young singer Selene Zanetti from Kabaivanska school included four arias: aria from the opera "Rusalka" by Dvorak, aria from the opera "Sid" by Massenet and two arias from the operas "Simon Boccanegra" and "Otello" by Giuseppe Verdi. At the finale Zanetti impressed the jury with her performance of the aria - "Come in quest'ora bruna" from "Simon Boccanegra", She was awarded the first prize thanks to her beautiful voice combined with musicality, elegance in the interpretation, brilliant technical performance and stage presence.


The jury included some of great persons from the world of opera Paolo Gavazzeni, Roberto Moretti, Paolo Baiocco, Cristina Park, Maria Papaioannou, Marco Balderi, Simone Marziali and Cristian Ricci.
