Three students of Raina Kabaivanska will sing in February at Metropolitan Opera

Maria Agresta, Veronica Simeoni and Pretty Yende will be part of three productions of world famous Metropolitan Opera in New York in February. 
Maria Agresta will be in the role of Micaela in "Carmen" by Bizet. Her partners on the stage will be French opera star Clémentine Margaine as Carmen and Marcelo Álvarez as Don Jose. Conductor of the new performance of Verdi’s famous opera will be Asher Fisch. Maria Agresta made her debut on the stage of Metropolitan Opera in 2016 as Mimi in "La Boheme" – it was defined by critics as “a spectacular success".


Famous mezzo-soprano Veronica Simeoni will be Charlotte in "Werther" by Massenet, conducted by Edward Gardner. The role of Werther will be performed by Vittorio Grigolo. This will be the debut of Veronica Simeoni on the largest US opera stage.


Maria Agresta and Veronica Simeoni - two of the best stars of the School of Raina Kabaivanska, have already started their brilliant career on the great opera stages in Europe and America. Bulgarian audience had the opportunity to hear Maria Agresta as Mimi in 2010 and Veronica Simeoni as Charlotte in 2012 on the stage of Sofia Opera within the project produced by New Bulgarian University "Raina Kabaivanska presents her students on the world opera stage". 
Pretty Yende - young opera singer from South Africa, will be in the role of Rosina in "The Barber of Seville" by Rossini, conducted by Maurizio Benini. In 2007 she participated in the Master Classes of Raina Kabaivanska, organized by New Bulgarian University and won a scholarship for training with the legendary opera actress.
